Minnesota
Chamber HIPAA Alert
Is
your company ready for the new HIPAA (Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) compliance
requirements due to take effect on April 13, 2004?
Many
smaller employers with are unaware that certain HIPPA
requirements apply to them. If your company currently
sponsors a Section 125 Health Flexible Spending Account
(HFSA) also called a "Medical Reimbursement
Account?" that is administered by an outside
organization, or Third Party Administrator (TPA), this
plan is subject to the upcoming April 14, 2004 HIPPA
compliance requirements.
As
an advocate for your business, the Minnesota Chamber of
Commerce wants to help you stay in compliance. We have
found a free turnkey solution that will help you:
1.
Establish a Privacy Official
2. Develop the Privacy Policy
3. Create a Business Associate Agreement
4. Create a Plan Document Amendment
5. Create a Privacy Notice
